food

feeding a baby is hard!!
first of all, it's another thing to do in a day. not that there aren't stretches of boredom in our average day. but lots of times there doesn't seem like we have a spare minute.
secondly, he gets so dirty and the floor and the whole area. i need a hose. it takes forever to clean up. i usually throw away the clothes he's wearing. it's just a waste. i can't use real stain remover because it's toxic. so nothing comes out.
thirdly, of course i am making his food. and i thought i don't need a special baby food maker i have a food processor. yeah it is not really suited. it's a little big to puree a tablespoon of food. and one food four times in a row to catch allergies. so i have to go to the store daily to make sure it's fresh and not all brown from yesterday.
and now i have to start doing it two and then three times a day! one is tough. we are so behind the curve already. he's 8.5 months and still on first foods. which really doesn't bother me because i am glad he's still getting full force breast milk.
i think i said it before. food issues? coming out full on. magnified. unsure if dairy should be eaten? what about gluten? how do you feel about sugar? and cholesterol, butter, red meat? how important do you think organic is? what about grass fed free range and pastured animals? since i love sushi do i feed him white rice? and on and on.
maybe i should go back to work and stop sweating it.

dude. breathe. that stressed me out reading it! this too shall pass. here's my advice. go to your kitchen. go to your refrigerator. look up. or down. depending on how fancy your fridge is. or look straight ahead if you've got a side by side. LOOK AT THE FREEZER! That's what I'm trying to say (badly). That is your new best friend. You need to take a Sunday and puree the shit out of a bunch of food and freeze it. No more daily trips to the grocery store (which is totally like when I wanted to silkscreen all of our invites...crazy...you can't live like that). Also, babies can eat in a diaper. Who cares? Really, who cares? And if people want to judge, tell them to go f*ck themselves. They don't do your laundry.

LMAO @ Marty! You took the words right out of my mouth! BREATHE! RELAX!
I HIGHLY recommend the naked baby feeding(wearing the pamper of course)! I feed Liv in a pamper and bib only. Anything else gets messy and gross!
And I bought a USED Beaba babycook processer and I love it. You can use ice cube trays to freeze the food (covered of course) and it's a nice cold treat in this summer heat as well...

Hopping of my know it all high horse now :-)

re reading that i did sound really stressed and a little crazy! food is my current worry. i find that there is always a topic regarding henry that is worrying me.

i do feed him in his diaper now that it's 1000 degrees every day. and i did just get a little food mill. which is working out pretty well. i just keep thinking: his teeth have to be coming in soon how much longer does he even need things pureed? in about 6 months i will be cutting up his food in tiny pieces. so i don't bother with the freezing bit. maybe a bad idea.
